Postini (Virus/Spam Filtering) Print E-mail
Are you getting SICK of junk emails?  If so, SCRTC is now putting the tools in your hands to slow down all that junk e-mail. 
       Starting in March, all SCRTC customers will have a new junk mail detection service. SCRTC has partnered with Postini to provide the latest tools to prevent viruses and junk email from reaching your computer. Soon, all of your email will pass through Postini's automated filters that detect suspected junk email and viruses. Suspicious email is directed to your personal, web-based, password-protected Message Center (it does not arrive at your computer's in box). In your Message Center you can read the quarantined email online, delete it, or deliver (forward) it to your in box. Postini lets you "block" senders; meaning		 email from them will always be filtered.  Or you can "approve" senders; meaning their email will always be delivered.
       When your service is activated you will receive an emailed with instructions on how to access your Message Center and how to get the most out of your junk email and virus protection. You will have different levels to filter your emails from lenient to aggressive based on 5 criteria: Sexually Explicit, Get Rich Quick, Racially Insensitive, Special Offers and Bulk Mail.

To Log In
To log in to your account (the new South Central Message Center), follow these instructions:

  1. Go to the following web site:  http://login.postini.com/exec/login
  2. Your login address is: your_user_name@scrtc.com
  3. You should access your configuration page using the same password you are currently using to check your South Central email account.

     

You may also modify your default settings or deactivate any services.  To do so, go to the following link and review Postini's user instructions.
