Dial-up Set-up for Windows XP

  1. Click on the Start button, go to Control Panel and "Network and Internet Connections."
     
  2. Click on Internet Options.
     
  3. Click on the Connections tab.
     
  4. Click on the Setup button.
     
  5. Click Next.
     
  6. Select "Connect to the Internet." Click Next.
     
  7. Choose "Set up my connection manually."  Click Next.
     
  8. Select "Connect using a dial-up modem."  Click Next.
     
  9. In the ISP Name box, type "SCRTC Internet."  Click Next.
     
  10. The Phone number should be XXX-4638.  Click Next. (Click here to find an access number for your area.)
     
  11. In the User name box, type your username (the part of your e-mail address before the @ sign).
     
  12. Your password (i.e., ABC12d) should be typed in the Password box.
     
  13. Retype your password (i.e., ABC12d) in the Confirm password box.  All three small boxes in this window should be checked.  Click Next.
     
  14. Check "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop."
     
  15. Click Finish.
