Configure Eudora 5.1 for Windows (using the Wizard)

If you were using an earlier version of Eudora and have just upgraded to Eudora 5.1, you do NOT need to follow these steps. Your settings will be converted automatically.

If you have never used any version of Eudora before on the computer you are using, or if you have deleted Eudora from your computer and then reinstalled it, follow these steps to set up Eudora to access your SCRTC e-mail.

  1. Start Eudora 5.1 and enter your username and password if requested. The New Account Wizard window will open automatically.
  2. The first screen welcomes you to the Wizard. Click Next.
  3. Click the radio button labeled "Create a brand new email account." Click Next.
  4. Type in your full name as you want it to appear in outgoing messages. You may use both upper- and lowercase. Click Next.
  5. Type in your e-mail address. This is your username followed by "@scrtc.com" (for example: username@scrtc.com ). Click Next.
  6. Type in your username where it asks for your Login Name. Click Next.
  7. Your Incoming E-Mail Server is mail.scrtc.com .  Type your information in and click Next.
  8. Outgoing E-Mail Server will default from what you entered in the previous step.  Change this to smtp.scrtc.com.  Click Next.
  9. The final step congratulates you on your success. Click Finish.

If you need to change your settings later, reopen the same dialog box by choosing Options from the Tools menu.
