SCRTC Helps Rental Company Communicate
Green River Rentals’ website shows off everything that can be found on location. Excavators? Check. Boom lifts? Check. Lawn seeders? Check. The company offers almost any piece of equipment a home or business owner starting a construction project might need, and it has for the last 28 years.
“We rent to homeowners, commercial contractors, bigger construction companies, excavation companies and concrete companies. We have all that,” says Green River Rentals President Glenn Martin.
Over the years, SCRTC and Green River Rentals have built a symbiotic relationship. SCRTC sometimes rents attachments from Green River to ensure its own fleet is properly equipped to dig trenches to bury cables, Glenn says. And SCRTC’s services help Green River operate smoothly and better serve its customers.
The Power of Connection
Green River Rentals has 2 locations: the original business in Bowling Green and another shop in Glasgow. Some firms may have trouble smoothly running 1 business out of 2 locations. But with SCRTC, everything runs like the well-oiled machines Green River rents.
“Chuck Jones with SCRTC showed us how we could combine our stores through a static IP address on the internet,” Glenn says. “We combined our phone system as well.”
If the phone rings at the Glasgow location and no one is there, it automatically rings through to the Bowling Green store. Callers never have to leave a voicemail or hear an automated message giving the Bowling Green number.
Glenn is impressed with SCRTC’s work. “It was very professional looking the way they did it,” he says. “They did all of our networking and all the routers and firewalls that we use. It’s all in 1 space now at each spot.”
Glenn recently told someone how lucky Barren County and surrounding areas are to have SCRTC as a telecommunications provider. “We’ve dealt with some of the bigger ones, and you don’t get the same kind of service,” Glenn says. “You can bet on that.”
Like SCRTC, Green River Rentals provides a variety of services. It rents to manufacturers for equipment used in their factories. It also rents lawn and garden equipment, as well as some small excavators and more, to property owners.
And the Green River crew likes to add a little fun to the workday. The company’s website features a games tab. With the help of artificial intelligence, employee Tyler Martin—no relation to Glenn— designed video games featuring staff members’ faces, so anyone who needs a break from deciding on the right piece of equipment can always play a round of Steve Invaders.
Glenn is proud of the services his company offers. “We’re really pretty diverse in what we do,” he says. “Customers seem to be happy with the way we do our business and with our products.”
